FAQ

Questions we get
before a project starts.

Cost, timelines, design, installation and materials. If yours is not here, just ask.

How much does custom cabinetry cost?

Custom cabinetry is priced based on the size and complexity of the project, materials, hardware, finish, and installation requirements. Because every project is different, we provide individualized quotes based on your specific needs and design. Contact us with your project details for a custom estimate.

How long does a project take?

Forsell Wood Company operates as a small, hands-on company with a limited number of team members available depending on the project and schedule. This allows the company to give each project careful attention to detail, but it also means projects may take longer than they would with a larger shop. Timelines vary depending on the size, complexity, materials, finishing requirements, and current schedule. An estimated timeline will be provided during the quoting and planning process, with updates throughout the project.

Do you provide design services?

Yes. We can work with you to develop your project from an initial idea into a finished design. Shop drawings are traditionally drafted by hand using pencil and 1/8" scale drafting paper; we’re old school! Depending on the project, this may include measurements, drawings, material selections, hardware, finishes, and other details needed for fabrication.

Do you install your work?

Yes. Installation is available for projects built by Forsell Wood Company. We can coordinate delivery and installation to ensure the finished work is properly fitted and installed in your space.

What areas do you serve?

Forsell Wood Company primarily serves Northern Illinois and surrounding areas.

Can you match existing cabinetry?

In many cases, yes. We can work to match existing cabinetry, including wood species, profiles, door styles, dimensions, finishes, and other details. An on-site assessment and samples or photographs may be necessary to determine the best approach.

Can you build from a customer’s drawing?

Absolutely. Customer drawings, sketches, photographs, inspiration images, and ideas are all useful starting points. We can review your concept and determine what is needed to turn it into a functional, buildable project.

Do you provide materials?

Yes. Materials can be supplied as part of the project. Depending on the scope, this may include lumber, plywood, veneer, hardware, finishes, specialty materials, and other components required for fabrication. Material selections and costs will be included in the project quote.
